(1-23 of 23)Brilliant Braze
- Email Marketing
- Push Notifications
- User Journeys
- Rename Content Blocks
- Journey orchestration
- Campaign content builder
- Experimentation
- Analytics - Not all events are passed via API
- Campaign builder - Difficult to collaborate on the same campaign as it may create conflicting versions
- Dashboarding - There's no way to build dashboards within Braze
A capable and powerful tool for the right use-case
- App Data Collection
- Engagement
- Profile Building and Organization
- Improved customer service experience
- Improved training/education
If you're only using Braze to send SMS and Email and the occasional push, you're likely better off finding a cheaper platform.
Braze organizes its analytics in a very odd way in my experience, so I'd also recommend pairing Braze with a secondary reporting tool of your choosing.
- Excellent data metrics, analytics and reporting
- Allows you test and experiment with A/B testing
- Provides a high level of automation once all configured
- Needs more customization options for the dashboards
- While easy to use there is an initial learning curve before you become comfortable with it
- Report generation is sometimes slow
A solid solution for CRM at our company
- Results reporting
- Integrated communication
- A/B testing
- Overall UI and UX - screens are a bit crowded
- Improve integration with other tools
- Increase creative options when structuring each communication design
If you have a junior team on your company you might have a hard time with the tool, since I see that the interface is a bit crowded - the learning curve might be slower that you'd imagine.
Braze - A fantastic platform to keep engaged with your customers.
- Campaigns
- Ease of adjusting emails.
- Push notification management.
- Integration with mobile platforms for push notifications.
- Support through things like Discord would be amazing for developer support.
The perfect marketing tool for the modern marketer!
- Email marketing.
- Data ingestion.
- Push Notifications.
- Audience management.
- Advanced filtering to create segments.
- Analytics - looking at customer-level data to investigate issues.
- User support
- Ease of implementation
- Currents and segmentation
- Better analytics
- Better understanding of ambiguous data points
- Quicker results with better accuracy
Not sure when it would be less appropriate unless someone is looking for a very, very basic CRM platform for email marketing perhaps.
- Custom setup to get the tool to work for your business
- Continually updating and improving
- Cross channel integration is easy
- Could improve reporting and analytics tools
- Could improve customer service, as they've grown the customer service hasn't quite kept pace
Braze - the Total Package!
- Braze positions itself to ingest all pertinent customer data (attributes, demographics, etc.) that is then easily accessible to be used to target customer segments
- By having all customer data in a centralized place, it allows for quick campaign and canvas setup
- The metrics and statistics readily available for all customer communications make identifying issues quick.
- The Canvas view made adjusting the many steps in a canvas slightly complicated. Thankfully, Braze has now migrated over to Canvas Flow tool, which simplifies the entire Canvas creation process.
Event-Based Marketing Powerhouse
- Event-based triggers
- Drag and drop email editor
- Canvas (program/journey) builder
- User friendly interface
- Lead scoring
- Analytics Api and exports
- No visible user database
- User profile attributes and events
- Segmenting our user base, in terms of their portfolio/location/user behavior
- Making comprehensive and easy customer journeys using canvas
- Enabling A/B testing in every step of the way
- It offers analytics insights, but this is still not incredibly detailed
- It takes a while for features on the product roadmap to be implemented
- The drag-and-drop editors of their marketing channels (Email & IAM) could use some improvement in terms of more functionality and tweaking abilities
Braze is less suited when you try to connect external, out of app situations to the app. For example, to update a users preferences, a preference center is available but this one still lacks in customization, and it is not that user friendly to get outside data into braze and get it to seamlessly work within the environment.
The go-to CRM and engagement platform for apps
- Omnichannel communication orchestration.
- User segmentation mixing demographics and app events.
- A/B Tests: it is easy to define testing groups and to check the results
- Global Control Group to measure the impact of CRM activities as whole.
- A better way to keep track of traditional CRM metrics for the whole account (not for a specific campaign). For example, it is easy to see the Open Rate for a campaign, but it is not that easy to see the average Open Rate for the account by week or month.
- More depth in the general results. Braze is not good at showing business and general metrics in a macro way. That is why we need to plug two solutions to solve this: Looker/Tableau to see business metrics impacted by our Braze campaigns, and Amplitude/GA to better check user funnels and app events.
- Is constantly improving all its features.
- Cares a lot for the final user and its usability, in my case I'm constantly getting asked about feedback to improve several features.
- Is really easy to use, and the documentation and LAB are really helpful if you are starting with Braze.
- Has a strong community, where anyone can ask everything and other peers can contribute.
- The reporting is still very premature and basic, I know they're working on it.
- Maybe little things that they're aware like the incapability to change active steps in canvas.
- They're working on several templates to help the customization of all channels, but this has been a little bit slow and of course, it depends on which priorities they have.
Less appropriate: maybe for managing leads for enterprises, definitely this tool is for customer engagement of new, current and previous users but to evaluate leads I don't see it.
World Class Marketing Platform
It is being used by the marketing department. It allows us to target retention, education, up-sell opportunities, and compliance communications.
- Personalized customer journey
- Consolidation of marketing tools to bring multi channel communications under one roof and allowing each of them to talk to each other.
- The Braze community. This not only helps with idea generation, but makes a great place to network and grow your team.
- The Customer Success team is world class. They reply to anything and everything we send them promptly and with actual answers.
- Mobile experience for the Braze dashboard
- Simplification of liquid logic for non-technical users
- Improvement to reporting metrics with detailed graphs. Creating something in the dashboard would save us the resources spent on hiring analytics managers and piping the data to Tableau.
Amazing tool! Really helpful!
- Push Notifications.
- In-app messages.
- Conversions dashboards.
- Automated inbox messages.
Great product and team
- Usability - If you are experienced with ESPs, Braze is simple and straightforward to learn after an initial exploration into the tool.
- Tooling, Products, and Features - Braze is a robust tool that enables my team to build complex lifecycle marketing programs without needing support from product/engineering. We can easily target users with email, push notifications, in-app messages, webhooks, SMS, and more all in one place.
- If there is ever a product that is missing/could be improved, the Braze team will listen to our needs and incorporate suggestions into their product roadmap.
- Customer Service - The Customer Success team is so responsive and helpful - some of the best I've ever worked with. They will provide suggestions, feedback, workarounds (if needed), and recommendations to improve your efficiency and strategy. I'd highly recommend a CSM as well.
- Better reporting and analytics built within Braze. We do a lot of exporting of data to outside tools for analysis.
- UI improvements such as foldering/organizational structure instead of just a tagging system.
- Load times for canvases that are very complex (though I've been told this improvement is coming soon).
Braze
Braze is being used as the primary platform that we use to communicate with our different audiences. It's being used to fulfill communication needs for all departments in the company but managed by the CRM team.
Braze is an extremely robust tool with a short learning curve. Building out new lifecycle strategies and campaigns was extremely simple. While there are a lot of functionalities, no CRM/ESP service will ever have every feature that all of their competitors have. Braze does a great job with listening to their customers and adding new features onto the roadmap.
- Building out new lifecycle strategies and campaigns was extremely simple.
- Braze does a great job with listening to their customers and adding new features onto the roadmap.
- Moving data into and out of Braze has been a challenge.
- Braze's reporting function is still a work in progress.
Sophisticated Tool Made Simple With Dedicated Reps
- Customer service and reliable reps.
- Good documentation for you to self learn the tool. Braze is complicated, but they have resources (in addition to human customer service) designed to help you learn.
- Integrations - We integrate Braze with Simon Data, which is a huge help.
- The UI can be difficult to figure out. It's hard to sort current campaigns from past ones. You can't delete campaigns.
Braze is great!
- Customer support.
- They listen to their customer's needs.
- It's definitely a leader in this business.
- No cons on our end!
- Braze support team continues to demonstrate strong expertise and prompt follow-ups on our technical inquiries and debugging assistance as incidents arise.
- Braze offers a great variation of integrations with tools such as Segment and Amplitude to digest all the data companies are currently tracking on digital clients and analyze those data points in a common environment alongside all Braze interaction events.
- Braze offers great flexibility in targeting and delivery criteria for campaigns, as well as sets a good standard in thinking about conversion events / success factors for campaigns.
- The target users tab in Braze does not provide optimal granularity in identifying targeted audiences. The way our company tracks data on users requires us to target audiences with multiple event properties tied back to events.
- The canvas in-app feature Braze offers does not allow for delivery in specific apps. For a company such as IBM that offers a variety of products and services implemented with Braze, this feature does not serve value and cannot be used.
- Braze offers A/B testing with multiple variables but they don't expose the variant IDs in the UI of the braze campaign analytics dashboard. This prevents us from easily analyzing the variants of campaign in Amplitude.
- Great for nudging users to gain a more valuable experience in the UI of the product with in-app messages.
- Great for preventing churn with emails.
- Great for experimenting and A/B testing content in nurture campaigns.
- Great for targeting users effectively based on Segment instrumented data.
- Great for analyzing data in Amplitude post campaign launch to see interaction data alongside segment data.
Braze from a marketer's view
- Braze is good at managing multiple campaigns simultaneously. It is easy to draft, start, stop, modify, restart, and archive campaigns — the interface is attractive, and the campaign creation/management process is pretty intuitive.
- Targeting options are very sophisticated. Braze uses both event and analytics data from our offerings to let us choose the exact cohort we want to hit. Delivery triggers are similar, but depending on the instrumentation of the offering our delivery timing may not be optimal (we rarely get this right on the first pass.)
- One limitation is that once campaigns are launched, Braze does not allow changing conversion events. They do this to maintain data integrity, but in many of our use cases, this does not make sense. However, it is still fairly simple to copy the campaign and then change the conversion event and relaunch. This does mean that we have to sum data to fully see results.
Application of Appboy for Push Notification
- Push notifications - allows for flexibility in message and content.
- Custom event reporting - set events in the app code that triggers when certain criteria is met.
- Segmentation - using user behavior to better target messaging based on what they engage with in-app.
- Optimization - provide suggestions for messaging based on experience of past campaigns.
- Allow for greater flexibility in segmentation dimensions.
- Reduce latency in reporting - real time or concurrent user data would be useful.
